DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th May, 2026) District Health Officer South Waziristan Upper Dr. Abdullah Khan has said that provision of timely and quality healthcare facilities at the doorstep of tribal people remains among the government’s top priorities, adding that the health department is utilizing all available resources to improve medical services in the region.
He expressed these views during a meeting with former Paramedics Association president Riaz Khan Burki and Tariq Rehman Mehsud, where matters related to the healthcare sector, condition of medical centres, staff performance and public welfare were discussed in detail.
The participants stressed the need for joint efforts to further strengthen the healthcare system in tribal districts.
Dr. Abdullah Khan said the effective measures were being taken to activate basic health units in remote areas, ensure availability of medicines and improve attendance of medical staff.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He said the monitoring system had been made more strict to address public complaints and issues being faced by patients at health facilities. He warned that no compromise would be made on negligence, absenteeism or poor public service.
The DHO said doctors, paramedical staff and other health workers must perform their duties with honesty and professionalism to ensure better healthcare delivery to the public.
Dr. Abdullah Khan further stated that all recruitments in the health department would be carried out strictly on merit to promote competent and trained candidates. He said only skilled and capable health workers could provide improved medical services, therefore transparency and merit would be ensured at all costs.
