Director General Pakistan Airports Authority (DGPAA), Air Vice Marshal Zeeshan Saeed, paid an official visit to Skardu International Airport to review ongoing and proposed development projects aimed at enhancing the airport’s operational capacity and passenger services
ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) Director General Pakistan Airports Authority (DGPAA), Air Vice Marshal Zeeshan Saeed, paid an official visit to Skardu International Airport to review ongoing and proposed development projects aimed at enhancing the airport’s operational capacity and passenger services.
The DGPAA was accompanied by senior officials, including the Deputy Director General Airports, Engineer Sadiq Ur Rehman, Director Airport Services, Director Engineering Services, and Director Planning and Development. Upon arrival, he was welcomed by the Airport Manager Skardu, the Base Commander of Pakistan Air Force Base Qadri, and the Officer Commanding Airport Security Force.
During the detailed briefing, officials apprised the DGPAA of several major projects currently underway. These included the expansion of the existing Passenger Terminal Building, construction of a new Air Traffic Control (ATC) Tower and Fire Station, as well as plans for a New Passenger Terminal Building to meet increasing passenger traffic.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>As part of his visit, Air Vice Marshal, Zeeshan Saeed, also hosted a luncheon for senior members of the Skardu District Administration. Discussions focused on the advancement of airport infrastructure, with particular attention to land acquisition matters related to the proposed terminal building.
The DGPAA later interacted with airport staff, acknowledging their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to ensuring operational excellence at one of the country’s most strategically important airports.
The visit underscored the Pakistan Airports Authority’s continued efforts to strengthen aviation facilities in the northern region, supporting tourism growth and improved connectivity for the residents of Gilgit-Baltistan.
