DG Social Welfare visits Township Complex, reviews facilities for women

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Mar, 2026) Punjab Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Director General Dr Shehnshah Faisal Azeem on Wednesday visited the Social Welfare Complex Township on the directions of Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Sohail Shaukat Butt, where he reviewed facilities being provided to women and other vulnerable groups.

During the visit, the DG inspected Women Transitional Home (Dar-ul-Falah) and Halfway Home (Dar-us-Sukoon), where the management briefed him on services being extended to resident women. He also met with women residents and other individuals, and obtained direct feedback regarding the facilities.

Dr Shehnshah Faisal Azeem reviewed ongoing measures for the welfare and rehabilitation of destitute women and persons suffering from mental health issues, emphasizing the need for continued care and support.

The DG directed the authorities concerned to further improve facilities at welfare institutions and enhance the standard of care to ensure maximum relief for deserving segments of society.

On the occasion, Eid gifts were also distributed among deserving women and their children.
