DG Safe City orders tech-driven policing for faster public response in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) Director General Safe City / DIG Traffic Muhammad Haroon Joya directed officials to utilize modern technology and strengthen real-time monitoring systems to ensure swift response and improved public assistance across the Federal capital.

An official told APP on Monday that that Muhammad Haroon Joya chaired a meeting with the Safe City Islamabad team, which was attended by SP Safe City/Capital Patrol Awais Ali Khan, IT team members and the in-charge of the Police Operations Hall.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on further improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the real-time monitoring system operated through the Police Operations Hall.

The official said deliberations were also made regarding improving police response time to emergency calls received through helpline “Pucar-15” and ensuring modern training for call takers deployed at the emergency response center.

Haroon Joya directed officers to adopt advanced technological solutions for protection of citizens’ lives and property and to ensure immediate response to public complaints.

He said the objective of Safe City was not only to achieve the vision of a secure city but also to provide immediate relief to citizens through better integration of surveillance and response systems.

The DG Safe City said Islamabad Police was utilizing all available resources to strengthen public safety and emergency response mechanisms in the capital.

He also urged citizens to report suspicious activities immediately through helpline “Pucar-15” or the “One Info App” to help police ensure effective security and timely action./APP-rzr-mkz
