DG Punjab WASA reviews water supply arrangements in Murree

Director General (DG) of Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Punjab, Tayyab Farid on Tuesday visited Murree to inspect water filtration plants and reviewed water supply arrangements for tourists and residents during the peak summer season

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) Director General (DG) of Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Punjab, Tayyab Farid on Tuesday visited Murree to inspect water filtration plants and reviewed water supply arrangements for tourists and residents during the peak summer season.

Accompanied by Managing Director WASA Rawalpindi, Saleem Ashraf, he carried out a detailed inspection of filtration plants established at Kashmir Point and Mall Road. The DG also reviewed the water purification process, supply system, operational efficiency and ongoing maintenance being carried out by WASA Murree.

During the visit, Tayyab Farid received briefings from the relevant authorities on various ongoing projects and directed officials to ensure an uninterrupted supply of clean and safe drinking water to both tourists and residents.

He said water demand in Murree raised significantly during the summer and tourist season, making it essential for all filtration plants to remain fully operational.

The DG inspected tunnel tanks and reviewed the water storage system, supply lines and technical arrangements. WASA officials briefed him on water supply operations, filtration procedures and ongoing repair and maintenance work.

Later, Tayyab Farid visited an under-construction facilitation centre, where he reviewed the pace and quality of development work. He directed the concerned staff to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe to improve facilities for visitors and residents.

The DG said all available resources would be utilised to modernise and strengthen WASA Murree to ensure improved and efficient public services.
