DG ISPR interacts with VCs, faculty members at National Security Workshop 2026

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) A special interactive session featuring the Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) was held as part of the National Security and Strategic Leadership Workshop 2026, bringing together vice chancellors and senior faculty members from universities across the country.

The workshop was attended by vice chancellors, deans, registrars, and senior teachers from over 200 universities nationwide. Participants from Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Muzaffarabad, Multan, and Quetta also joined the event online.

During the engagement, the DG ISPR highlighted issues related to Pakistan’s internal security environment, particularly focusing on emerging strategic and security challenges confronting the country.

Participants acknowledged the role of the Pakistan Armed Forces in safeguarding national defence, stability, and security. They said Pakistan emerged victorious during Marka-e-Haq owing to the efforts of the armed forces.

They also expressed full confidence in the strength of the country’s defence institutions.

The participants observed that people in Azad Jammu and Kashmir as well as Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) hold the Pakistan Army in high esteem. They also said the session provided valuable guidance on protecting students from misleading propaganda and promoting factual and responsible information.

Members of academia termed the interaction a timely initiative, saying it enhanced awareness about national security, information warfare, and contemporary challenges facing the country. They emphasized that stronger engagement between academia and the armed forces is essential for promoting national cohesion and informed discourse.

The participants further appreciated ISPR’s initiative of bringing university leadership and academia together on a unified platform to improve coordination and understanding on issues of national importance.
