DFP terms Indian apex court verdict for release of Kashmiri iconic leader Shabir Shah on bail a victory of truth and justice

MIRPUR (AJK) , (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news - 13th Mar, 2026) ?In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the Democratic Freedom Party, while welcoming the grant of bail to its incarcerated party president and veteran iconic Kashmir freedom struggle leader Syed Shabir Ahmed Shah in a fake "terror funding" case by the Indian supreme court, has termed the much awaited verdict as a victory of truth and justice, says a report reaching here on Friday from LoC.

?Reacting to the court order issued by a bench compromised Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta, the DFP spokesman advocate Arshad Iqbal said in occupied Srinagar in Friday that despite many hurdles in the process the verdict is praiseworthy, according to the report.

? "Although Shah Sahib has not yet been released from jail, there is a ray of hope that the precedent set by the learned bench in this case will ultimately lead to his exoneration in the other baseless cases filed against him,” the spokesman said.

?Referring to Shah’s lifelong struggle for freedomof Kashmir from Indian forced occupation, the spokesman emphasized that his efforts have been purely peaceful and political in nature.

?Hailing the SC verdict as a major step towards justice, he expressed the optimism that the courts would provide similar relief to other Kashmiri prisoners who have been languishing in various jails of India and the occupied Jammu Kadhmir including in New,Delhi's infamous Tihar Jail for years, the report concluded.
