Development projects gain momentum in Kohat with road upgrades, solar initiative

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Feb, 2026) Development activities in Kohat have gained momentum as multiple public welfare projects move forward with funding support from Special Assistant to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government for Information Shafi Jan and former Federal Interior Minister and Member of the National Assembly Shaharyar Afridi.

According to official communique construction and repair work has formally begun on Doctor Banda Road, aimed at improving traffic flow and ensuring safer and more convenient travel for residents.

It said the project will also improve connectivity to local businesses, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities, thereby facilitating daily commuting and economic activity.

In parallel, a modern solar power system has been installed at Ali Mosque in Khairabad along Hangu Road.

The initiative will provide uninterrupted electricity during power outages while helping to reduce energy costs.

Authorities termed the project a positive step toward promoting renewable energy and sustainable development in the area.

It reaffirmed that delivering on public commitments remains a top priority, adding that all available resources are being utilized to enhance basic infrastructure and services.

The government expressed resolve to continue development initiatives across the constituency to ensure direct benefits for residents and sustainable progress in Kohat.
