Dera police foil 50kg silver smuggling bid in DI Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) The district police on Wednesday foiled an attempt to smuggle 50 kilograms of silver during a targeted operation

within the limits of Daraban Police Station.

According to police, the action was taken at Darazinda Check Post during routine checking. In-charge Check Post Muhammad Asif, along with ASI Allah Nawaz, intercepted a suspicious vehicle bearing registration number

(AXX-569 ICT).

Upon initial questioning, the vehicle occupants failed to provide satisfactory answers, prompting officers to shift the car to Daraban Police Station for a thorough search.

Under the supervision of SDPO Daraban Circle Inamullah Gandapur, the police team conducted a detailed inspection of the vehicle. During the search, 50 silver bars were recovered from beneath the rear seat of the car. Each bar weighed one kilogram and bore the hallmark “999.9,” indicating high purity.

The police officials confirmed that the total recovered silver weighed 50 kilograms. Further legal proceedings are underway.
