RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th May, 2026) Assistant Commissioner Murree, Arshad Iqbal on Friday directed all departments to remain fully active in anti-dengue efforts, warning that negligence would not be tolerated.

He issued directives while chairing a meeting of the Tehsil Emergency Response Committee (TERC).

Heads of all relevant departments attended the meeting, while Deputy District Health Officer Dr. Maryam Abbasi briefed participants on the current dengue situation, preventive measures and ongoing government interventions.

District Dengue Focal Person Karamat Ali and District Entomologist Dr. Ammar Ashtar highlighted technical aspects of dengue surveillance and control activities.

The meeting decided that all government departments would ensure cleanliness in and around their offices to eliminate dengue breeding sites.

Officials were directed to display awareness material, including banners and posters, at prominent places in offices.

Participants were instructed to share daily presentations on dengue awareness in official WhatsApp groups and submit “no larvae detection” certificates as per schedule.

They were also directed to upload geo-tagged photographs of field activities on a daily basis.

The meeting emphasized that no field staff or android user would be allowed to remain inactive, and all personnel must upload daily performance data.

Departments were further directed to nominate dengue focal persons and share their details with the District Health Office.

It was also decided to conduct awareness sessions in schools and colleges under “zero period” focusing on preventive measures against dengue.

Addressing the meeting, the assistant commissioner said all departments must adopt a coordinated strategy to effectively control dengue.

He warned that absence from meetings or failure to implement instructions would be reported to the deputy commissioner for action.
