Decision to activate proactive policing system in Punjab

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Apr, 2026) The Punjab chief minister has ordered for making policing system effective and proactive in the province.

According to the decision, the police patrol system will be made more effective and efficient so that surveillance can be ensured on roads and sensitive areas. Emphasis has also been placed on the use of modern technology for close monitoring of criminals.

The instructions issued to Police departmentt reveal that the circle around habitual criminals will be further tightened, while it is mandatory to adopt modern and proactive strategies to prevent crimes.

Emphasis has also been placed on making intelligence-based operations more active and using technology to the fullest.

According to official sources, the meeting further stated that timely detection of suspicious activities will be ensured, while instructions have also been given to make the Safe City Project Punjab and the digital monitoring system more effective.

Sources say that it has been decided to increase the police presence in the field for public safety. According to officials, the proactive policing system is expected to reduce the crime rate.

The government has made it clear that providing a safe environment to citizens is the top priority and fundamental reforms are being made in the policing system for this purpose.
