DEC committee approves 25 poultry farm cases

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Feb, 2026) Commissioner Sargodha Division Hafiz Shaukat Ali on Wednesday presided over a meeting of the Divisional Environmental Committee which approved 25 cases for the establishment of poultry sheds across the division.

Out of the total 32 cases, presented during the meeting, 23 were from Sargodha, five from Bhakkar, and four from Khushab districts.

The committee approved 25 cases while seven cases were referred back for re-evaluation with directions to ensure strict compliance with environmental protocols.

Commissioner Shaukat Ali said that promoting business activities while adhering to environmental principles is a top priority of the administration.

He stressed that every decision must align with provincial environmental laws and committee regulations to encourage a standard poultry industry and ensure environmental protection.

The commissioner added that in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the government is committed to promoting the poultry sector and other small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to create employment opportunities in the Sargodha division.

The meeting was attended by an expert from the University of Sargodha, the Deputy Director of Environment, and the Assistant Commissioner General (ACG).
