Death anniversary of former Punjab governor observed

The 29th death anniversary of former Punjab Governor and custodian of Hazrat Bahauddin Zakariya's shrine, Makhdoom Sajjad Hussain Qureshi concluded here on Friday

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Mar, 2026) The 29th death anniversary of former Punjab Governor and custodian of Hazrat Bahauddin Zakariya's shrine, Makhdoom Sajjad Hussain Qureshi concluded here on Friday.

In connection with the anniversary, the annual Urs and 'Khatm Sharif' were held at the premises of the shrine where a large number of devotees and followers participated.

The prayers on the occasion were led by the custodian of the shrine, MNA Zain Hussain Qureshi.

Addressing the gathering, he said that his grandfather, the late Makhdoom Sajjad Hussain Qureshi, had rendered immense services for the region and always treated people with love and respect.

He said that due to his services and affection for people, leaders of various political parties, elders of prominent families and custodians of different shrines had gathered to attend the ceremony.

He also thanked all participants for attending the Urs and Khatm Sharif.

Among those present on the occasion were senior politician Javed Hashmi, Ghulam Yazdani Gilani, Malik Ashiq Ali Shajra, former provincial minister Hussain Jahanian Gardezi, Noor Asghar Bacha, sajjada nasheen of the shrine of Musa Pak Shaheed Makhdoom Wilayat Mustafa Gilani, Makhdoom Rajan Bakhsh Gilani, MNA Pir Zahoor Hussain Qureshi, MPAs Nadeem Qureshi and Malik Adnan Dogar, former provincial minister Hafiz Iqbal Khakwani, sajjada nasheen of the shrine of Hazrat Nawab Sakhi Makhdoom Zohaib Gilani, sajjada nasheen of the shrine of Ghous Pak Noorani Dr Ghous Alam Gilani and sajjada nasheen of Hujra Ghous Pak Noorani Makhdoom Alameen Gilani along with a large number of other dignitaries.
