The meeting expressed satisfaction over the progress of the Kachehri Chowk remodelling project and discussed a proposal to open the Kachehri-to-Murree Road stretch for one-way traffic after Ramazan to ease congestion in the area.

Speaking on the occasion, Raja Qamar-ul-Islam said the pace of development during the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz tenure had been exemplary, declaring Rawalpindi a fortunate district in terms of infrastructure growth and public welfare initiatives.

It also ordered the construction of a boundary wall at Government Girls College Kallar Syedan to ensure security of students and staff.

The meeting sought a comprehensive report on security arrangements and facilities at hostels of Fatima Jinnah Women University and decided to make the new university hostel functional by ensuring immediate release of required funds.

Officials of the Punjab Saaf Pani Authority briefed the participants on water filtration plants across the district. The committee decided to restore non-functional filtration plants and activate new ones to ensure the provision of clean drinking water to residents.
