DC withdraws powers from three price control magistrates over poor performance

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Feb, 2026) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Captain (Retired) Nadeem Nasir has withdrawn powers from three

price control magistrates over unsatisfactory performance.

Chairing a key meeting, he reviewed public relief measures and enforcement of official price lists

across the district.

He made it clear that there was no room for negligence in ensuring the availability of essential

commodities at government-notified rates.

He directed price control magistrates to further strengthen field monitoring in markets to prevent

overcharging and artificial inflation.

He ordered special monitoring to maintain price stability of bananas and tomatoes, stressing that

unjustified price hikes would not be tolerated.
