DC visits Iqbal Manzil, reviews ongoing uplift scheme

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali visited Iqbal Manzil and adjoining old bazaars on Wednesday to review the ongoing upgradation of municipal services and beautification work aimed at preserving heritage and improving civic facilities.

According to a spokesperson of the DC Office, the project includes installation of sewer lines, improvement of sewerage and water supply systems, relocation of utility services, ducting of power and internet cables, facade improvement, uniform signage, street lighting and painting.

The deputy commissioner directed the departments concerned to complete the work within the stipulated timeline while ensuring quality and preserving the traditional outlook of the historic areas. She said provision of better facilities along with protection of heritage sites was among top priorities.

Later, she also visited the park at Sialkot Fort and directed the authorities to submit proposals for its rehabilitation to provide improved recreational facilities to citizens.
