LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Ijaz on Wednesday visited the central control room established at the DC Office to review monitoring arrangements for the Youm-e-Ali (RA) procession in the provincial capital.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Zulqarnain Khan and control room in-charge Syed Ali Murtaza accompanied the DC during the visit.
Officials briefed the deputy commissioner that the central district control room set up at the DC Office had been linked with the provincial central control room established at the Home Department to ensure effective coordination and real-time monitoring.
The DC was informed that the central procession was being monitored through more than 200 cameras installed along the route, enabling authorities to keep a close watch on all developments.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Ijaz directed officials to ensure continuous monitoring of the procession route and ordered that all surveillance cameras remain fully functional throughout the event.
He also instructed representatives of all departments stationed at the control room to remain alert and ensure effective coordination for smooth conduct of the procession.
The deputy commissioner further directed officials to closely monitor social media and electronic media to promptly respond to any misinformation or emergency situation.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that all available resources were being utilised to maintain law and order and ensure the peaceful observance of Youm-e-Ali (RA).
“The control room is continuously monitoring every aspect of the procession,” he said, adding that the presence of representatives from all relevant departments was ensuring effective coordination.
