SUKKUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jun, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Sukkur Nadir Shahzad Khan, accompanied by SSP Sukkur Azhar Mughal, Wing Commander Col. Atif Ahmad of Pakistan Rangers, and officers of relevant departments on Wednesday visited Idara Mahfil-e-Shah Karbala Iraq in Rohri on Tuesday to review arrangements for the historic Muharram procession.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected procession routes, entry and exit points, medical camps, and emergency services. He directed officials to ensure all possible facilities for mourners and to remain fully alert to handle any emergency.
Addressing officers of the Health Department, Mr. Khan instructed them to ensure immediate and quality medical aid for persons injured or requiring treatment due to heat, crowd, and matam. He said the district and tehsil administration had completed arrangements for clean drinking water, sanitation, medical aid, and security.
Speaking to the media, the Deputy Commissioner said medical camps had been established in coordination with the Health Department, PPHI, and other institutions.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Over 40 ambulances and Rescue 1122 teams are stationed on site to respond to emergencies. He added that officials, law enforcement personnel, and volunteers from social organizations are on duty to provide the best possible facilities to mourners.
SSP Sukkur Azhar Mughal said foolproof security arrangements have been put in place for Muharram-ul-Haram. Additional police force has been deployed for monitoring processions and majalis, while modern CCTV cameras are providing round-the clock surveillance. He stated that all law enforcement agencies are working in complete coordination to maintain law and order.
District Health Officer Dr. Ali Gul Shah, Assistant Commissioner Rohri Ghulam Murtaza Ghanghro, and other officials briefed the visiting officers on arrangements and facilities for mourners.
The district administration reiterated its commitment to utilize all available resources to safeguard life and property and ensure smooth facilitation of Muharram-ul-Haram activities.
