DC seeks rehabilitation plan for wildlife park Peerowal

KHANEWAL, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Maliha Rasheed has sought a comprehensive rehabilitation and development plan for Wildlife Park Peerowal to upgrade recreational facilities and restore the park to its original condition for visitors.

During her visit to the park on Wednesday, the DC conducted a detailed inspection of arrangements made for animals, birds, and tourists. She reviewed the overall condition of the park and directed the concerned departments to take immediate steps for its improvement and modernization.

She asked the Building and Wildlife Departments to jointly prepare a complete rehabilitation plan aimed at enhancing infrastructure and ensuring better care and protection of wildlife.

She also inspected the ongoing construction work of a veterinary hospital being established inside the park.

The officials informed her that separate veterinary facilities were being developed for animals and sick birds to ensure timely medical treatment and improved wildlife management.

The DC was briefed that the veterinary hospital project was being completed at an estimated cost of Rs 350 million.

The Deputy Commissioner further directed that animal enclosures and habitats should be upgraded in line with modern standards to provide a healthier and safer environment for wildlife.

Deputy Director Development Muzaffar Khan, along with officers from the Building and Wildlife departments, accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the visit.

The DC reaffirmed that the district administration was committed to restoring Wildlife Park Peerowal to its true state while providing quality recreational facilities to citizens.
