SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry chaired a meeting of additional deputy commissioners and assistant commissioners in which he was briefed on the arrangements for the second decade of Ramazan, distribution of Ramazan cards, price control and sanitation issues.
The meeting was informed that the process of distributing the Ramazan cards is going on and the assistant commissioners are regularly monitoring in their respective Constituencies.
The DC directed that every effort should be made to ensure compliance with the fixed price of bread. Assistant Commissioners and Price Control Magistrates should go out to the field on a daily basis, check roti points and take immediate action on violations. He directed that at least four bakeries should be inspected daily and the prices, quality and weight of bakery items should be checked. The prices of basic necessities should be monitored and exorbitant prices should not be tolerated. The DC said that the records of such shopkeepers who are not registered should be checked and if necessary, they should be brought into the tax net and registration should be ensured. He directed that the complaints received at the Punjab Chief Minister's Complaints Cell should be resolved on priority basis and the action should be completed within a maximum of 24 hours. The Deputy Commissioner also took strict notice of the issue of stray dogs and directed the assistant commissioners, ADLGs and Union Council secretaries to be mobilized.
In the meeting, CEO SWMC Rana Muhammad Abu Bakar gave a briefing on the Clean Punjab Program and the Special Ramazan Cleaning Plan. It was informed that the cleaning arrangements at Maryam's guest tables and convenience markets have been further improved. From 21st Ramazan, special cleaning staff will be deployed in commercial markets and plazas across the district, who will perform duty from Iftar to 12 midnight. Additional workers have been deployed in the densely populated union councils of Sargodha City, while the location sharing system has also been activated.
The Deputy Commissioner directed that all assistant commissioners should improve their offices and the surrounding environment and make the offices a model by Eid. He while reviewing security matters, directed that a security audit of public places, schools, educational institutions, hospitals and bus stands should be conducted. Instructions were also issued to establish control rooms at the tehsil level and install cameras at lorry depots and connect them to the Safe City system. He also directed to hold regular meetings of peace committees and other administrative matters in all tehsils. He said that the first ten days of Ramazan passed well, and work should continue with the same spirit and responsibility in the second ten days so that maximum convenience can be provided to the citizens.
