SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Jun, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Sargodha Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry on Tuesday chaired a review meeting to assess progress on the city beautification initiative and projects being executed under the Punjab Development Programme (PDP).
According to the spokesperson for the DC office here, the meeting was attended by Executive Engineer Highways Malik Gulfam Awan, Executive Engineer FESCO Construction Malik Muhammad Mazhar, and Assistant Director PDP Hamid Chattha, who briefed the DC on the status of ongoing development works.
On the occasion, the officials informed the meeting that approximately 90 percent of the beautification work on City Road and Kutchery Bazaar has been completed. Street lights have been installed along City Road, while carpeting work has also been finalized. Facade improvement work in front of shops in both markets has been completed as part of efforts to enhance the city's appearance.
The Executive Engineer of FESCO Construction reported that around 90 percent of the work assigned to the department under the beautification project has been completed.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He further stated that the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has issued a work order and practical work would commence shortly.
The Assistant Director PDP briefed the meeting on the progress of development schemes underway in the four tehsils of Bhera, Bhalwal, Sahiwal, and Sillanwali. Particular focus was given to projects aimed at rainwater management and the improvement of sewerage infrastructure.
He noted that the PDP project in Tehsil Bhalwal is among the top-performing schemes in Punjab and ranks prominently in terms of construction progress.
Addressing the meeting, Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry directed all concerned departments to ensure high-quality standards in the execution of development projects. He emphasized that laboratory testing of construction materials, especially pipes and other essential components, should be conducted regularly to maintain quality.
The Deputy Commissioner also instructed officials to complete all projects within the stipulated timelines, warning that delays would not be tolerated.
