DC reviews progress of Lahore Development Programme

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Mar, 2026) More than 50 per cent work under Phase-II of the Lahore Development Programme (LDP) has been completed

while the remaining schemes are being executed at a fast pace across the city.

The details revealed during a weekly review meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Ijaz

to review progress of development activities under Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Lahore Development Programme, here on Sunday.

Officials, including the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Finance), Chief Officer Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL), and representatives of WASA and NESPAK, briefed the meeting on the pace and scope of ongoing projects in different parts of the city.

The meeting was informed that Phase-I of the programme had been completed, while development work was continuing in surrounding localities that had earlier been left out based on citizens’ feedback.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Ijaz directed the relevant departments to complete the remaining works within the stipulated time frame and ensure strict adherence to quality standards.

He also instructed authorities to prioritise the completion of overlooked portions of Phase-I and ensure that citizens face minimal inconvenience during the execution of development projects.

The DC said timely completion of development schemes was the top priority of the district administration and any delay in public welfare projects would not be tolerated. He added that Lahore was being developed into a model city in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
