DC reviews pre-flood preparedness

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry on Wednesday presiding over a meeting of the District Emergency board to review pre-flood arrangements and preparedness for the upcoming monsoon.

According to a spokesperson for DC office here, the meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Ahmad Haroon, Assistant Commissioners, and representatives from various departments including PDMA, DDMA, Rescue 1122, Police, Health, education, Livestock, Buildings, the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), food Department, and other relevant agencies.

During the meeting, detailed briefings were given on potential flood risks, identification of vulnerable areas, establishment of flood relief camps, drainage arrangements, strengthening of river embankments, and emergency response preparedness.

The DC was also presented with a comprehensive pre-flood checklist and action plan. He directed all departments to ensure timely completion of their responsibilities and to take proactive measures to protect urban areas from possible flooding.
