DC reviews polio, EPI campaign performance:

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry on Wednesday chaired a joint review meeting of the post-polio drive and Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) to assess the performance of the health department and international partners.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Health, District Health Officer (DHO), other health officials, and representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO).

While reviewing the recent polio campaign, the Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry was informed that the set targets were successfully achieved across the district with no reports of missed children or refusals.

The DC appreciated the hard work of field teams, supervisors, and health staff, attributing the success to their collective efforts.

He further directed the officials to identify and bridge any remaining gaps to strengthen the district's defense against the virus.

The meeting also reviewed the EPI targets for February. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that routine immunization plays a critical role in protecting children from preventable diseases and must be treated as a top priority.

He instructed health authorities to ensure improved preparations for upcoming campaigns, calling for 100 percent accurate data collection and strict monitoring at the union council level.

The Deputy Commissioner concluded that the struggle to eradicate polio would continue with more organized and robust strategies to maintain the district's performance.
