SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Mar, 2026) A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Sukkur, Nadir Shahzad Khan, to review preparations for the upcoming polio eradication campaign.
The campaign is scheduled to run from April 13 to 16, 2026.
Addressing the meeting on Tuesday, the DC congratulated the polio teams on Sukkur's sample testing negative for polio, emphasizing the need to maintain this success.
He stated that relevant officers have been given full authority to form teams and ensure effective implementation of the campaign.
The DC warned that any negligence or lapse would not be tolerated, and responsibility would be fixed on the concerned officers. He directed that if new UC MOs or area incharges are appointed, their lists should be shared with Assistant Commissioners and signed accordingly.
District Polio Officer Dr. Waqar briefed the meeting on preparations, highlighting improvements in zero-dose coverage in Saleh Pat and Rohri union councils due to better planning and field operations.
The meeting was informed that polio teams will visit houses to administer polio drops to children under five, with special focus on high-risk areas and transit points. The supervisory and monitoring system has been strengthened to ensure effective campaign implementation.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioners, DHO Sukkur Ali Gul Shah, officials from education, police, PPHI, UC MOs, and other relevant departments.
