BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza on Wednesday chaired a meeting at the DC Office to review departmental performance in light of key indicators issued by Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

The meeting undertook a detailed assessment of administrative and service delivery departments, focusing on revenue case disposal, price control enforcement, petrol pump inspections, identification and repair of open manholes, action against stray dogs,crackdown on smuggled cigarettes, and progress under the “Suthra Punjab” cleanliness drive.

The DC directed officials to prioritize the resolution of pending revenue cases to ensure timely public relief.

Reviewing the performance of price control magistrates, he stressed strict enforcement of official rates for essential commodities, warning of indiscriminate action against profiteers.

He also ordered regular inspections of petrol pumps to ensure accurate measurement and compliance with government-notified prices.

Authorities were instructed to immediately cover open manholes to prevent accidents and protect public safety.

Discussing sanitation, Syed Hassan Raza called for further improvement in cleanliness arrangements under the “Suthra Punjab” initiative, ensuring efficient waste collection and prompt redressal of public complaints. He also directed departments to intensify efforts to eliminate stray dogs.

Emphasizing interdepartmental coordination, the DC said no negligence would be tolerated in implementing government policies, adding that performance monitoring would continue regularly.

The meeting was attended by senior officials, including the additional deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners, and heads of municipal and service departments.

The deputy commissioner directed all departments to present progress reports in the next session in line with assigned targets.
