DC reviews minority card distribution, stresses transparency, speed

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Feb, 2026) A review meeting on Phase-II of the minority card distribution was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry here on Thursday, focusing on expediting financial assistance to deserving minority individuals.

Addressing the meeting, the DC stated that the Minority Card is an important welfare initiative of the Government of Punjab aimed at providing financial assistance to deserving individuals belonging to minority communities.

He emphasized that the timely and transparent distribution of cards is essential to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive the intended support without delay.

During the briefing, Deputy Director Social Welfare informed the meeting that a total of 1,685 minority cards have been issued for Sargodha district.

Out of which, 1,110 cards have already been distributed, while efforts are underway to deliver the remaining 576 cards to their rightful beneficiaries.

He informed that tehsil-wise breakdown revealed that 1,607 cards were issued for Sargodha tehsil, 31 for Bhalwal, 36 for Sillanwali, 13 for Kot Momin, and 4 for Shahpur.

Chaudhry directed the concerned officers to expedite the distribution process and ensure complete transparency so that deserving individuals can benefit at the earliest.

Assistant Commissioner Sargodha Ahmad Sher and Deputy Director Social Welfare Zeba Andleeb also attended the meeting.
