DC reviews health department performance, directs improvement in public healthcare services

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Jun, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Sargodha, Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry on Wednesday presided over a meeting to review the performance of the Health Department and emphasized the need to ensure the provision of quality and timely healthcare services to the public.

According to the spokesperson for the DC office here, the meeting was attended by Chief Executive Officer of the District Health Authority, Dr Kashif Nabeel Azam, District Health Officer Dr Shehzad Gul, and other relevant health officials.

Addressing the meeting, the DC directed health authorities to ensure the availability of the best possible medical facilities at government hospitals and healthcare centers across the district.

He stressed the importance of regular monitoring of doctors, paramedical staff, and other healthcare workers to ensure their attendance and effective service delivery.

He also underscored the need to maintain an uninterrupted supply of medicines and improve facilities being provided to patients.

During the meeting, the CEO Health gave a detailed briefing on the performance of the department, including progress on Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics, digital health applications, ongoing development programs, and other healthcare initiatives.

The DC also reviewed details of newly proposed projects, the revamping program, and measures being taken to improve facilities at healthcare centers.

Officials informed the meeting that healthcare services are being provided to citizens through Rural Health Centers (RHCs) and Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics operating across the district.

Chaudhry further directed authorities to ensure cleanliness in all government hospitals, maintain the functionality of medical equipment, and provide a patient-friendly environment at healthcare facilities.

He stated that improving public health services remains a top priority of the Punjab government under the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, adding that all available resources would be utilized to strengthen the healthcare system and enhance service delivery for citizens.
