SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry on Wednesday directed WASA and local government authorities to complete all ongoing development projects.

Chairing a review meeting on development schemes being executed under the Punjab Development Programme, the DC stressed that roads and streets affected by sewerage and other infrastructure works should be restored immediately after completion of construction activities to avoid traffic disruption and inconvenience to the public.

During the briefing, Managing Director WASA informed the meeting that work was underway on more than 20 sewerage projects across the city, while progress on disposal stations, including Sillanwali Road and Jinnah Colony disposal points, remained satisfactory.

The meeting was further informed that 71 percent work on rainwater storage tanks being constructed at three locations in the city had been completed.

The DC directed officials to maintain both quality and pace of work and ensure strict safety measures at all development sites.

He said public convenience remained the administration’s top priority and efforts should be made to minimize difficulties for citizens during construction activities.

The assistant director of the Punjab Development Programme informed the meeting that work on rainwater storage projects was progressing rapidly in all four tehsils of Sargodha district, with overall completion reaching 24 percent.

The DC directed Parks and Horticulture Authority officials to immediately begin restoration of green belts and horticulture work in areas where development projects had been completed to enhance the city’s beauty.

The meeting also reviewed the proposed pedestrian bridge project on University Road being constructed on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

ADC Headquarters Muhammad Arshad Wattoo, MD WASA Abu Bakar Imran, Deputy Director Development Mehtab Yaseen, XEN Highways Gulfam Awan, CEO District Council Asad Hariya, Assistant Director PDP Hamid Chattha and officers from PHA, Safe City and other departments attended the meeting.
