DC reviews City Road uplift under CM’s beautification program

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) Deputy Commissioner(DC),Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry on Wednesday visited City Road to review the progress of ongoing development works being carried out under the Punjab Chief Minister’s City Beautification Program.

According to a spokesperson for the DC office, the deputy commissioner inspected beautification measures,carpeting work and other development activities on City Road.

On the occasion,FESCO officials briefed him that electricity poles, wires and transformers along the road had been shifted underground while electricity supply to shops was being ensured through properly installed meters.

Officials further informed that City Road and Kutchery Bazaar were being transformed into a modern model market.

Around Gol Chowk Mosque,tough tiles were also being laid to facilitate pedestrians.

The DC directed all concerned departments to ensure timely completion of development works in accordance with approved standards.

Later,he also inspected ongoing WASA projects under the Punjab Development Program,including the disposal station upgradation project on Sillanwali road and the 47-Pull disposal site.

Managing Director WASA briefed him that a comprehensive strategy had been devised to improve the drainage system and provide relief to citizens.

The DC said no negligence in public welfare projects would be tolerated and stressed that all schemes must be completed with transparency and efficiency.

MD WASA,Deputy Director Development and other relevant officers were also present during the visit.
