HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Zeen-ul-Abideen Memon chaired a meeting to ensure strict implementation of the government’s austerity policy. The meeting was attended by SSP Hyderabad Shahzaib Chachar, assistant commissioners of all talukas of the district and other senior police officers, said in a handout issued here on Monday.
Addressing the meeting, the DC stressed the need for effective coordination and a joint strategy among relevant departments to ensure implementation of the austerity measures. He said that, in view of the prevailing situation, the austerity policy aimed at energy conservation must be implemented in Hyderabad as it is being enforced across the country.
SSP Shahzaib Chachar assured full cooperation and said that all SHOs were taking necessary steps to ensure implementation of the decisions in their respective areas.
Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner also held a separate meeting with office bearers and representatives of various traders’ associations.
He urged them to ensure compliance with the austerity policy by closing shops, hotels, marriage halls and banquet halls within the prescribed timings.
He informed that all markets and shopping malls in Hyderabad district will close at 9:00 pm, while hotels, restaurants and food outlets will remain open from 7:00 pm to 11:30 pm. However, home delivery and takeaway services would remain exempt from restrictions.
Similarly, marriage halls and banquet halls will be allowed to operate from 8:00 pm to 12:00 midnight for events, while bakeries, tandoors, milk and dairy shops, medical stores, pharmacies, laboratories, clinics, hospitals and petrol pumps will remain exempt from these restrictions. Representatives of trader associations present in the meeting assured full compliance with the austerity policy.
