LARKANA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Mar, 2026) Under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Qambar Shahdadkot, Imdad Ali Abro, a meeting of the District Polio Eradication Committee was convened in the Darbar Hall of the DC Office Qambar on Thursday.
The meeting reviewed the performance of the last NIDs (National Immunization Days) from December 2025 and discussed preparations for the upcoming polio campaign scheduled from April 13 to April 16, 2026. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner-I Zuhair Zameer Othano, Dr. Gulzar Ahmed Tanio (District Health Officer), Assistant Commissioners of all talukas, and relevant officers from all government departments working under the district administration.
On this occasion, Dr. Farid Lark provided a briefing, stating that District Qambar Shahdadkot comprises seven talukas. Within each taluka, teams will administer vaccines to achieve the set targets. The Assistant Commissioners of the talukas and health department officers will jointly supervise the campaign to ensure its success. This polio vaccination campaign will continue throughout the district from April 13 to 16, 2026.
Addressing the public of Qambar district on this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Imdad Ali Abro urged them to ensure their young children are given polio prevention drops during this campaign to protect them from this crippling disease. Issuing further directives, he stated that it is the duty of all relevant departments in the district to work together, going door-to-door, to make this campaign successful. Teams must reach every child, and no child in any area, school, or madrasa should be left out. Parents must be made aware to administer polio drops to their children so they can be saved from lifelong disability.
He further added that any negligence by a polio worker or any other official during this campaign will result in the strictest possible action. He instructed all Assistant Commissioners of the talukas to ensure the implementation of the newly formulated 72 microplans and to conduct visits during the campaign so that no child is missed. The Polio Focal Persons of the talukas should also monitor their respective areas. Relevant officials were also present on this occasion.
