DC oversees security, administrative arrangements for Youm-e-Ali

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Mar, 2026) The district administration has completed all arrangements for peaceful observance of Youm-e-Ali (RA) in Lahore, while the central procession of the 21st of Ramazan began under strict security and administrative supervision on Wednesday.

The central procession started from Mubarak Haveli in the morning and will culminate at Karbala Gamay Shah, covering a route of approximately 4.5 kilometres.

Deputy Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Ijaz said that comprehensive arrangements have been made for more than 5,000 mourners participating in the central procession. He said that the district administration, police, Rescue 1122 and all relevant departments were actively deployed in the field to ensure the smooth conduct of the procession.

Arrangements have also been completed on other procession routes across the city, including the main route from Mubarak Haveli to Karbala Gamay Shah.

The DC said that a control room established at the DC Office was continuously monitoring the situation, while assistant commissioners have been directed to keep close watch on the procession routes. “All departments have been placed on alert to effectively deal with any emergency situation,” he added.

The DC said that the district administration was fully mobilised to ensure the safety of mourners and to provide all necessary facilities at the start and end points of the processions. He added that continuous monitoring was being carried out to ensure that the central procession and other related gatherings were held peacefully.
