DC orders strict monitoring to prevent artificial shortage of petrol in Chiniot

CHINIOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Mar, 2026) A meeting of the District Petroleum Monitoring Committee was held in Chiniot on Thursday under the chairmanship of Ayesha Rizwan to review the supply and quality standards of petroleum products across the district. The important meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner General Wasiq Abbas Haral, DO Industries Danish Tahir, Civil Defense Officer and DRTA Secretary Madam Saira Rafique, SDO Para Muzammil Hussain and SNA Mehr Umar Hayat Sapra. During the session, officials collectively discussed strategies to ensure smooth and transparent monitoring of petrol supplies.

Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed committee members to maintain continuous surveillance of fuel stocks at all petrol pumps to ensure an uninterrupted supply of petroleum products. Moreover, she emphasized that strictly monitoring stock levels would help authorities effectively prevent any disruption in supply throughout the district.

Furthermore, Ayesha Rizwan made it categorically clear that no form of artificial shortage would be tolerated. She directed officials to ensure that petrol is sold strictly at government-notified rates and warned that immediate action would be taken against violators. In addition, she ordered thorough checking of vehicles transporting petroleum products and instructed authorities to properly maintain complete records of supply movements.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner also directed the relevant departments to take prompt action against petrol pumps that stop fuel sales without justification. She added that, in line with the instructions of Maryam Nawaz Sharif, authorities are continuously monitoring petroleum supply, demand and available reserves to ensure stable availability of fuel for the public across the district.
