DC orders strict monitoring of Eid cleanliness arrangements

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th May, 2026) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir on Sunday directed all administrative officers to ensure strict monitoring of cleanliness operations and uninterrupted civic facilities during Eid-ul-Azha, terming provision of a clean and safe environment a top priority of the district administration.

He issued the directives while chairing a meeting held to review Eid-ul-Azha operational arrangements across the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner General Anwar Ali, assistant commissioners of City, Saddar, Tandlianwala, Samundri, Jaranwala and Chak Jhumra, along with officers from relevant departments.

The DC directed assistant commissioners to formulate comprehensive monitoring plans and ensure their immediate implementation for cleanliness operations and provision of civic facilities during Eid days.

He warned that no negligence would be tolerated in maintaining sanitation standards and public facilitation.

Nadeem Nasir announced the cancellation of leaves of staff from Suthra Punjab, Punjab Enforcement & Regulatory Authority, Civil Defence,Revenue Department, District Council and other relevant departments, directing them to remain in the field during all three days of Eid-ul-Azha.

He instructed officials to ensure timely disposal of offal of sacrificial animals to maintain hygienic conditions in urban and rural areas.

Special instructions were also issued for cleanliness of graveyards, parks, Eidgahs, bus stands, hospitals and public washrooms.

The DC ordered immediate closure of unsafe mechanical swings and rides, stating that no compromise would be made on public safety, particularly of children.

He further directed that overcharging by transport operators would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The meeting decided to keep control rooms functional round the clock and establish a special mechanism for prompt redressal of public complaints.

The DC said additional staff would remain deployed throughout Eid days and operations would continue day and night to ensure maximum public facilitation.

He added that helpline 1139 would remain operational 24/7 during Eid-ul-Azha for lodging complaints and resolution of civic issues.
