DC, MNA visit Nigahban Dastarkhwan to review Iftar arrangements

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Feb, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Dr. Hassan Waqar Cheema, along with Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Tahira Aurangzeb, visited the Nigahban Dastarkhwan set up in Saddar Cantonment and city areas to review Iftar arrangements during holy month of Ramazan.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the quality of food being served, cleanliness, seating arrangements, and other facilities provided for the public.

He directed the concerned officers to ensure that citizens are provided Iftar in a dignified and hygienic environment, warning that no negligence would be tolerated.

Dr. Cheema said that in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Nigahban Dastarkhwan programme is aimed at providing relief to deserving people during Ramazan.

He added that the district administration is utilizing all available resources to facilitate the public.

MNA Tahira Aurangzeb appreciated the arrangements and said the Punjab government is taking practical steps for the welfare of underprivileged segments of society, adding that the Nigahban Dastarkhwan is an important initiative in this regard.
