DC Matiari review eid, transport, health, sanitation emergency preparedness in meeting

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Matiari Muhammad Yousif Shaikh has said that all relevant departments must fulfill their responsibilities through mutual coordination to ensure effective implementation of arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha, law and order, sanitation, transport, health, education, disaster management and the National Action Plan in the district so that better facilities can be provided to the public.

According to a handout, he expressed these views while presiding over various important meetings held at Latif Hall, Deputy Commissioner Secretariat Matiari, where four major district-level meetings were conducted in a single sitting.

During the meetings, arrangements for transport and fare checking during Eid-ul-Adha 2026 were reviewed. Discussions were also held regarding maintaining law and order, availability of medicines and doctors in hospitals, preparedness of machinery of Municipal, Town, PHE and SCARP departments and measures by the Irrigation Department to deal with rains and emergency situations.

The meeting also discussed issues regarding the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), where relevant departments were directed to remain alert during the Eid holidays to respond to any emergency situation.

On the occasion, a district-level meeting of the District Coordination Committee for the Revised National Action Plan was also held, in which matters related to law and order, prevention of narcotics, actions against illegal activities and strengthening coordination among various departments were discussed.

In addition, meetings regarding the District Service Delivery Commission, enrollment campaign for out-of-school children and distribution of textbooks were also conducted. Officials of the education department were directed to ensure the enrollment of out-of-school children and timely distribution of textbooks to students.

The meetings were attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner-II Iqra Jannat, Assistant Commissioner Matiari Abdul Sattar Sheikh, Assistant Commissioner Hala Dr. Mazahir, Assistant Commissioner Saeedabad Abdul Shakoor along with officers and representatives from health, education, irrigation, local government, HESCO, police, highways, civil defence, anti-narcotics, social welfare, NGOs, NADRA, PHE, transport, food, livestock, and other relevant departments.
