DC launches polio drive, urges parents’ full cooperation

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Kohat, Muhammad Nawaz Wazir, on Tuesday formally launched the anti-polio campaign in the district by administering polio drops to children and urging parents to ensure their participation in the drive to safeguard them from lifelong disability.

Addressing the launching ceremony, attended by officials from district administration, health, education and local government departments, the DC emphasized that eradication of polio requires collective efforts and active participation from every segment of society.

He called upon parents to ensure timely vaccination of their children, adding that the health department has mobilized all necessary resources and teams to cover every area of the district, with a focus on leaving no child unvaccinated.

The DC also directed authorities concerned to intensify awareness campaigns through schools, community centers and local organizations to educate parents and ensure maximum participation in the nationwide polio eradication initiative.
