DC Larkana visits various markets, check prices, availability of food items

LARKANA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Feb, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Larkana, Sharjeel Noor Channa, visited various markets in the city on Friday to ensure the availability of food items to the public at government-prescribed rates during the holy month of Ramadan. He reviewed the prices of daily-use commodities during the visit.

During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner visited different grocery stores, fruit and vegetable shops, meat and fish outlets, and other shops, where he checked the officially notified prices. Fines were imposed on shopkeepers who had not displayed price lists, and they were strictly directed to prominently display the price lists and ensure the provision of essential food items to the public at government-fixed rates.

He warned that strict action would be taken against those found violating the directives.

The Deputy Commissioner also directed the Assistant Commissioners and Mukhtiarkars of the district to conduct daily market visits and monitor the prices of essential commodities to provide maximum relief to the public.Relevant officers were also present during the visit.
