DC Kurram bans bulk fuel sales to prevent hoarding, orders strict monitoring

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Mar, 2026) The district administration in Kurram on Tuesday imposed a ban on the sale of petroleum products in drums and bulk containers to curb hoarding and prevent artificial fuel shortages in the area.

According to an official handout, Deputy Commissioner Ashfaq Khan directed all petrol pump owners to strictly comply with the order, avoid stockpiling and ensure that fuel was sold only through licensed retail outlets.

The administration warned that any violation of the directive would result in strict legal action under the relevant provisions of the Petroleum Act and other applicable laws.

Assistant commissioners across the district have been assigned to carry out field monitoring of petrol pumps and fuel depots to ensure full compliance with the new directives.

Officials said the measure aimed to protect consumers from inflated prices and ensure uninterrupted availability of fuel during the current supply-sensitive period.

The district administration also urged citizens to report any illegal fuel sales or hoarding, assuring prompt action against violators.
