DC issued letter to municipal corporation to cover open manholes

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Jul, 2026) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shaheed Benazirabad, Abdul Samad Nizamani, has issued a formal letter to the municipal corporation and other relevant departments directing them to immediately cover all open manholes and install RCC covers.

DC expressed strong displeasure over the failure to implement previous orders regarding covering of open manholes, replacement of wooden lids with RCC covers, and the provision and installation of remaining RCC covers across the district.

As per the official communication issued by the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Municipal Corporation Shaheed Benazirabad, TMC H.

M. Khawaja Town, TMC Old Nawabshah, and all union committees of the district have been directed to take immediate action on an emergency basis to ensure public safety.

The letter further emphasized that all open manholes must be covered without delay and that wooden covers should be replaced with durable RCC lids. It was also clarified that several instructions in this regard had already been issued through multiple meetings and official correspondence earlier.
