LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th May, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Ijaz on Saturday visited THQ Hospital Raiwind, a wheat procurement centre and the temporary cattle market in Raiwind to review healthcare services, wheat procurement operations and Eid-ul-Azha arrangements.
At THQ Hospital Raiwind, the deputy commissioner reviewed administrative affairs, medical facilities and the performance of the Punjab government’s special screening camp established for early diagnosis of diseases. He inspected modern diagnostic facilities being provided free of cost to citizens and directed the hospital administration to ensure uninterrupted availability of essential medicines at the pharmacy along with strict implementation of cleanliness and hygiene standards across the hospital premises and washrooms.
DC Ali Ijaz said the special screening camp was playing an important role in timely diagnosis of diseases and warned that negligence in treatment of patients or absence from duty would not be tolerated. He added that the district administration was actively present in the field to ensure transparency and efficient functioning of public hospitals.
Later, the DC visited a wheat procurement centre near the hospital where officials briefed him on measures being taken to complete wheat procurement targets within the stipulated timeframe.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He directed authorities to ensure timely payments to farmers and warned against corruption, hoarding and profiteering during the procurement process.
He said the entire wheat stock would be purchased at the government-fixed rate and reiterated that the district administration was working actively for farmers’ facilitation and food security.
During his visit to the temporary cattle market in Raiwind, DC Ali Ijaz reviewed sanitation arrangements, veterinary facilities and other amenities being provided to traders and buyers ahead of Eid-ul-Azha. Officials briefed him on the lighting system, traffic management plan and disinfectant spray campaign conducted to protect animals from viral diseases.
He directed authorities to keep the public complaint help desk operational round the clock, deploy additional sanitation staff and ensure availability of medicines and vaccines at veterinary camps.
The deputy commissioner said there would be no compromise on provision of facilities, cleanliness and public convenience at cattle markets established for Eid-ul-Azha.
