BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) Under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s 'Clean and Green Punjab' initiative, Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Syed Hassan Raza conducted a detailed visit to green belts located near Farid Gate.
During the visit, he inspected ongoing cleaning and rehabilitation work being carried out under the supervision of the Technical education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) and issued strict directives to the concerned officials.
The deputy commissioner stressed that, in line with the Chief Minister’s vision, cleanliness of greenbelts must be ensured at 100 per cent, warning that no negligence or laxity would be tolerated. He highlighted that greenbelts play a vital role in enhancing the city’s beauty and require consistent maintenance.
He directed that grass cutting, cleaning, and upkeep be carried out regularly without interruption. Additionally, instructions were given to replant grass and introduce new plantations in the greenbelts. Under the plantation drive, a variety of shade and ornamental plants will be planted to provide citizens with a clean, green, and pleasant environment.
Syed Hassan Raza reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to making the city greener and more vibrant, stating that all available resources will be utilised to achieve this goal. He also directed relevant departments to complete the work within the stipulated timeframe and submit progress reports to the district administration to ensure effective monitoring of quality and pace.
