DC Hyderabad chairs meeting on price fixation of essential commodities for Muharram-ul-Haram

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jun, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad, Zain-ul-Aabdin Memon, chaired an important meeting regarding the fixation of prices of essential commodities in view of the commencement of the sacred month of Muharram-ul-Haram.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Price Control Committee, market stakeholders, traders, and relevant district administration officials. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on ensuring the availability of essential food items and other daily-use commodities at reasonable rates to provide maximum relief to the general public during the holy month.

Deputy Commissioner Mr. Zain-ul-Abedin Memon emphasized that the district administration is committed to protecting consumers from overpricing and profiteering.

He directed all concerned departments to strictly monitor markets and ensure compliance with officially notified rates. He further instructed officials to take prompt action against hoarding and artificial shortages of essential commodities.

The Deputy Commissioner stated that maintaining stable prices and ensuring the uninterrupted supply of essential items are among the administration’s top priorities during Muharram-ul-Haram. He urged traders and market representatives to cooperate with the administration and play their role in facilitating citizens during this sacred month.

The meeting concluded with a consensus on adopting effective measures to maintain price stability and safeguard the interests of consumers across District Hyderabad.
