Sargodha, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry on Thursday expressed strong displeasure
over negligence and incorrect reporting during the recent anti-polio campaign in the district.
He was chairing a review meeting on the polio drive and the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), attended by the CEO Health, District Health Officer (DHO), Deputy District Health Officers (DDHOs), and other relevant officials.
During the meeting, the DC criticized poor performance, misreporting of areas, and submission of inaccurate data. He made it clear that negligence or false reporting in such a sensitive public health matter would not be tolerated.
He also raised serious concerns over weak field performance of ICMs (Independent Campaign Monitors) and the absence of teams in certain areas, directing strict action against responsible officials and teams.
Expressing concern over low reporting of Acute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP) cases, he termed the non-reporting of two cases as a serious issue and warned that those responsible would be held accountable.
According to the briefing, 98 percent of targeted children across the district were administered polio drops,
while 99 percent of households were covered. However, 1,287 children were still reported as missed.
A one-month deadline has been set to vaccinate these children, with vaccinators assigned special targets.
The meeting was further informed that 1,126 zero-dose children had been identified, and efforts were underway to bring them into the immunization net.
