DC, DPO inspect procession routes ahead of Youm-e-Ali

BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Syed Hassan Raza and District Police Officer Bahawalpur Abdul Wahab inspected the procession routes ahead of the 21st of Ramzan, observed as Youm-e-Shahadat-e-Ali (RA).

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the procession route from Sunar Wali Gali to Shahi Bazaar, while arrangements along the route from Shahi Bazaar to the Central Shia Jamia Masjid were also reviewed in detail. Officials from the relevant departments accompanied them during the inspection. The Deputy Commissioner and the DPO carefully reviewed security measures, traffic management plans, sanitation arrangements, and other administrative preparations aimed at ensuring the peaceful conduct of the procession.

On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza directed the concerned departments to ensure proper cleanliness along the procession route and to guarantee the full functionality of streetlights so that adequate lighting is available during nighttime.

He further instructed authorities to immediately resolve sewerage issues, repair damaged roads, and remove any obstacles along the route to prevent inconvenience for mourners participating in the procession.

Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza stated that the safety of participants and the provision of all possible facilities for citizens would be ensured. He added that the district administration, police, and other relevant departments are fully mobilized to facilitate the peaceful conduct of the procession. District Police Officer Abdul Wahab also highlighted security arrangements, stating that strict security measures, deployment of adequate police personnel, and effective monitoring would be ensured along the procession route to maintain law and order on the occasion.
