CHICHAWATNI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sahiwal, Captain (Retd.) Samiullah Farooq on Monday directed all relevant departments to further enhance field activities for dengue prevention and ensure strict implementation of anti-dengue SOPs to effectively tackle any emerging situation in a timely manner.
He expressed these views while chairing a review meeting at Montgomery Hall regarding the ongoing anti-dengue campaign across the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner General, Niaz Ahmad Mughal, CEO Health, Dr. Azhar Naqvi, DHO, Dr. Muhammad Tahir Chaudhry and other concerned officials.
The participants were informed that 25 confirmed dengue patients were currently reported across the province, while no confirmed case had so far been reported in the district.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The meeting was further informed that dedicated beds for dengue patients had been allocated at Sahiwal Teaching Hospital, DHQ Hospital, THQ hospitals and Rural Health Centers to deal with any possible situation.
Deputy Commissioner Samiullah Farooq said that although the current weather conditions remained satisfactory, the risk of dengue could increase by early August.
He directed authorities to further accelerate surveillance, sanitation and public awareness activities to keep the district dengue-free.
