LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Ijaz chaired a meeting to review security and
administrative arrangements for central procession of Youm-e-Ali (RA) in the provincial
capital, on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by SSP Operations and members of the Peace Committee and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters), while officials concerned briefed participants on the proposed route and security plan for the procession.
During the meeting, a detailed review of security arrangements and procession routes was conducted to ensure smooth conduct of the religious event. The administration decided to implement foolproof security measures along the procession route to maintain law and order.
The DC directed the departments concerned to ensure best possible municipal services on the procession routes, including cleanliness and proper lighting arrangements. He also emphasized that strict security measures should be implemented throughout the route.
He instructed authorities to devise an effective traffic management plan to ensure smooth flow of traffic during the procession and minimize inconvenience to citizens.
The DC further directed all relevant departments to enhance coordination and remain vigilant to ensure peace and stability during the event. He also urged members of the Peace Committee to play an active role in promoting religious harmony and unity.
The DC said a control room has been activated at the DC Office Lahore to monitor the procession and oversee arrangements. He added promoting religious tolerance and maintaining peace remained the administration’s top priority. He mentioned that the district administration would ensure best security and municipal services on the occasion of Youm-e-Ali (RA) and appreciated the cooperation of religious scholars belonging to different schools of thought.
Members of the Peace Committee assured the administration of their full cooperation for maintaining peace and discipline during the procession.
