DC chairs meeting of Fire Safety Audit Committee

Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Abdul Samad Nizamani, presided a meeting of Fire Safety Audit Committee regarding fire safety arrangements in commercial buildings, shopping centers, and large public buildings in Nawabshah, at Darbar Hall Monday

NAWABSHAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Abdul Samad Nizamani, presided a meeting of Fire Safety Audit Committee regarding fire safety arrangements in commercial buildings, shopping centers, and large public buildings in Nawabshah, at Darbar Hall Monday.

During the meeting, a detailed review of fire safety arrangements in commercial buildings, shopping centers, and major public buildings across the district was conducted. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner directed relevant departments to ensure the availability of firefighting equipment, emergency exit routes, and other safety measures in all buildings. DC said that protection of lives and property of public is top priority and that any negligence in this regard would not be tolerated. Deputy Commissioner further instructed concerned authorities to conduct regular inspections of commercial buildings and shopping centers to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.

He also directed that immediate action be taken, including sealing buildings where adequate safety arrangements are not in place. Meeting decided that fire safety audit process across the district will be made more effective and that all relevant departments will perform their responsibilities in close coordination. Assistant Commissioners of all talukas and relevant officers briefed meeting about the measures and actions taken regarding fire safety audits. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Saddam Hussain Memon, DSP Police Dure Tabish, DSP Habib ur Rehman Lashari, Municipal Commissioner Abdul Razzaq Sheikh, Municipal Engineer Yaseen Bhangwar, Rescue Officer Abdul Mannan, along with Assistant Commissioners of all talukas, representatives of Sindh Building Control Authority, Civil Defence, Fire Brigade, and officers from various Town Municipal Committees.
