KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Kohat division Muhammad Nawaz Wazir on Friday stressed the need for interfaith harmony and collective efforts to maintain peace while chairing a meeting on the district’s law and order situation.
The meeting was attended by the District Police Officer, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), prominent Sunni and Shia religious scholars and local elders, who discussed measures to promote religious tolerance, interfaith dialogue and community-led peace initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, the deputy commissioner said lasting peace could only be achieved through mutual understanding and cooperation among religious leaders, community elders and citizens.
He added that the district administration was maintaining close coordination with police and other relevant agencies to ensure law and order.
Participants appreciated the administration’s efforts and assured their full support for initiatives aimed at promoting communal harmony in the district.
Later, the deputy commissioner visited Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Kohat Sweet Home where he shared iftar with orphaned children.
During the visit, he reviewed the living and educational facilities and interacted with the children about their studies and daily activities.
He encouraged them to focus on education and take part in extracurricular activities, stating that such engagements were important for building confidence and shaping a brighter future.
